Screen protector recommendations — glass vs film?

Just cracked my third glass screen protector in a year. Thinking of switching to a matte film protector for better grip. Do you guys swear by tempered glass or is film actually better for everyday use?

Switched to ZAGG InvisibleShield film last year and honestly it feels better than glass — better grip and no shatter risk.
